Help new members feel welcome and a part of the club<br \/>\n2. Elevate knowledge transfer through experience and wisdom gained from seasoned OMC members.<br \/>\n3. Create a process for regular and personal communication to new members. Commit to at least a year.<br \/>\n4. Provide feedback on areas of leadership, communication, interpersonal relationships and activities.<br \/>\n5. Engage new members and to encourage club volunteerism<br \/>\n6. Retain membership<br \/>\n7. Create a warm club environment that encourages fellowship<br \/>\n8. Build loyalty to Oklahoma Mustang Club<\/p>\n<p>Benefits for Mentors<br \/>\n1. Info exchange that goes both ways that can aid in personal development for mentors.<br \/>\n2. Satisfaction of sharing expertise with others.<br \/>\n3. Builds member energy and enthusiasm<\/p>\n<p>Mentor Responsibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contact new member as soon as possible after they join. Phone calls are best. Try to create a personal connection and good rapport.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure new member gets a copy of the \u201cClub Owner\u2019s Manual.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Get to know your mentee and build trust.<\/li>\n<li>Ask if you can connect with them via social media. Ask for their preferred way to communicate.<\/li>\n<li>Have them share how they got interested in Mustangs.<\/li>\n<li>Find out personal information about member if they are willing to share. It\u2019s important not to be pushy or nosy and to keep information confidential.<\/li>\n<li>Be a good listener.<\/li>\n<li>Build trust by following through on what you have promised to the mentee.<\/li>\n<li>Sit with new member at activities like club meetings and after meeting dinners. Always greet then when you see them at activities.<\/li>\n<li>Have regular communication with new member and remind them of activities. Encourage them to attend and make sure they have all the information they need.<\/li>\n<li>Get feedback from member on activities of club. Notify leadership of any issues or help new member may need. Use good judgment on what you should share and not share.<\/li>\n<li>Keep all communications about club and club members positive.<\/li>\n<li>Keep confidences and ensure all personal interactions are appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Every effort will be made to match the mentors and mentees based on personal interests and demographics. If there is a sense that the mentor relationship is not working let coordinator know so issues can be worked out and\/or a new mentor can be assigned.
